Flu vaccination is recommended for many people, including adults, children and those at higher risk of complications. In Queensland, pharmacist-administered flu vaccinations may be available from 6 months of age, subject to suitability and current regulations.


People who may be eligible for a FREE flu vaccine under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) include:

  • Children aged 6 months to under 5 years
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Pregnant women
  • People aged 65 years and over
  • People with certain medical conditions that increase their risk of severe influenza
